Job Title: Senior EC&I Designer
Location: Leicester
Business Unit: Cavendish Nuclear
REF: SF33844
Primary Responsibilities
You will provide design solutions primarily for the Critical Equipment (Reactor Protection Systems) section through production of:
Electrical Control and Instrumentation, Circuit data capture, Design Schemes (with appropriate support), Design Proposal Drawings, 3D Design Proposal Drawings, Detail Drawings, Fabrication Drawings, General Assemblies, Bills of Materials and Input to Technical Specifications
You will take responsibility for delivery of work packages to programme, budget and required quality.
You will also have some experience in applying relevant EH&S issues as required by legislation (and applicable Directives) and support at Designers Risk Assessments / Design Reviews.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
Senior Designer HNC/HND as a minimum with experience
Supervisory experience or Resource Management desirable but not essential.
Prepared to travel and work at customer's sites and locations, when required
AutoCAD experience is essential.
AutoCAD Electrical working knowledge is desirable.
Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Design Techniques working knowledge is desirable but not essential.
Autodesk Inventor experience would be advantageous.
Autodesk Vault working knowledge would also be advantageous.
You should have a sound knowledge of fabrication techniques to support electrical designs and a sound knowledge of achievable manufacturing accuracy.
Finally, we would like you to have a good knowledge of geometric tolerancing, a working knowledge of commonly used components, materials and standards and some experience of formal change control.
