DevOps Engineer 4 - Java Platform Group - NSC SecClear
Senior or Principal DevOps Engineer
Location: Anywhere in the UK. Fully remote, but with the option to work from an Oracle office if required.

TheJava Platform Groupis looking for an experienced, passionate, and highly motivated DevOps engineer. Our team is responsible for delivering the Java platform that is used by millions of developers. We are looking for a seasoned engineer with a thorough understanding of both Java Platform and designing cloud native webservices.
We are looking for candidates with strong technical background, who will design, implement and test our next generation cloud native services for remote management, monitoring and configuring JDKs. You will be working on an Oracle Cloud native cloud service providing millions of Java customers to better manage their Java deployments globally.
Skills we require:
5+ experience in an Ops environment, implementing, managing and testing large scale Java applications
Significant experience coding in Java, and using Ansible/Terraform or similar
Experience with Jenkins CI/CD, Git,maven/gradle
Experienceworking on one or more major cloud vendors (OCI, Azure, AWS, GCP)
Skills we love to have, but are not vital
Experience with SQL Databases (Oracle, MySQL)
Implementation using ELK or similar
React / JavaScript
Cloud Networking
Knowledge of technologies like Docker,Kubernetes, Jaeger or Istio is advantage
Development of Grafana Dashboards or similar is useful
Spring Boot/Helidon/Dropwizard Web Services Framework
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
