Job Description Summary Responsible for the preparation and submittal of drawing packages based on customer specifications for Transformer Monitoring System equipment (TMS) and related products.
You will work closely with the project management group to ensure the timely execution of the project to the required standards, the equipment manufacturing and assembly group to ensure the quality and completeness of the as built system, and the test team to ensure the system meets the performance requirements as documented.

Job Description Roles and Responsibilities
- Project specification, design and qualification of Transformer Monitoring Systems (TMS).
- Detailed engineering and design of electrical enclosures and mechanical component design (flanges, adapters, etc). This includes generation of circuit diagrams, BOM's etc. for the manufacture of electrical enclosures and mechanical assemblies.
- Ensure all project documentation and drawings are updated as required.
- Proficient in the use of 2D and 3D CAD programs and software for the design and construction of electrical control cabinets. Engineering base, Autocad, Solidworks.
- Ensure all designs meet the required standards.
- Create and update specification sheets for bought in parts used in the preparation of electrical enclosures.
- Support of DMP and standardization projects.
- Ensure adherence to project deadlines as assigned by project manager.
- Support resolution of system test issues.
- Support in the further development of processes (process optimization) and the design tools employed with the aim of establishing uniform, rational project execution
- Support root cause analysis activities with regards to product or performance issues.
- Support continuous improvement activities with the aim of improving the efficiency and effectiveness of project execution.
Education Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Similar from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a design engineering role, preferably in transformer monitoring, transformer design or similar.
Desired Characteristics
- Knowledge of M&D products, services and processes (GE employees only)
- Experience in transformer and transformer monitoring equipment (TMS) design.
- Working knowledge of Oracle ERP system including projects module
- Project management qualification (PRINCE2)
- Experience of configuration languages used in automation systems (PLC's)
- Good knowledge of both written and spoken German
- Engineering management, problem solving and organizational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong cultural awareness and international experience
- Positive attitude towards customers, peers and managers
- Excellent team working skills
