Job Description Summary Exciting opportunities exist for a Lead Systems Engineer with strong expertise in requirements to be part of our new Aviation Systems Controls Engineering - Systems and SW organisation. In this role you will lead and perform systems engineering requirements tasks in a wide variety of complex avionics and power programmes. You will utilise your experience and leadership skills to solve complex systems engineering problems and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals, spanning multiple products across our global business.

Job Description As a Lead Systems Engineer - Requirements Specialist you will be actively supporting various projects, reporting to a line manager who will work with you for Continuous Professional Development. You will be working also on engineering-wide improvements initiatives, helping us grow our requirements capability to satisfy emerging business opportunities in both the civil and military aviation sector. 

Essential Responsibilities
  • Working with projects to enable successful requirements development strategies and plans
  • Supporting projects in capturing, understanding and documenting customer's requirements
  • Supporting requirements lifecycle in DOORS including requirements creation, trace, maintenance, tools development, generation of reports and health check assessments
  • Leading requirements improvement activities across the engineering functions
  • Supporting requirements management tools upgrades (DOORS Next Generation), developing related processes and methodologies
  • Supporting development of product line requirements related strategies
  • Coaching and training the engineering community on current and future requirements capability
  • Creating and maintaining common metrics to track projects requirements status
  • Creating model-based architectures and designs using state-of-the-art computer aided engineering tools

Qualifications/Requirements
  • An appropriate degree or HND in Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Physics, similar subject, or equivalent experience
  • Experience of the systems and SW development lifecycle within aerospace or a similar safety critical industry
  • Experience with DOORS requirements management tool and DOORS Extension Language (DXL) scripting
  • Experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and Rational Team Concert (RTC)
  • An understanding of embedded software and / or hardware engineering
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills

Desired Characteristics
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools, languages and methods
  • Good problem solving and solution building skills
  • A passion for systems engineering, technology, and aviation

Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role.
