**We are looking for Senior candidates who have strong Benefits Management/strategy/ Realisation, Business Case, Leadership and Stakeholder Management experience within a large scale programme. Public Sector or Government is desirable**

The Role of a Benefits Manager

As Benefits manager you will lead the preparation of and maintain a robust Business Case to justify the necessary investment in the programme and ensure it continues to be desirable, viable and achievable. You will be responsible for proactively identifying, quantifying, and tracking the realisation of benefits used to justify investment in the program. The role ensures that a ???fit for purpose??? approach to benefits measurement and realization is used to provide assurance that the benefits identified can be achieved.


The project is IT transformation focused within an ever-challenging environment and the same for the role itself.


Essential Criteria


Delivery & Leadership: 

??        Day to day management and leadership of the project and the project team. Provide effective leadership and management controls.

??        Design the project structure and organisation appropriate to stage. Set appropriate delivery methodologies.

??        Defining and starting up an Advisory Group and bringing this to operational readiness

??        To manage the ongoing benefits reporting/ ownership and delivery across all benefits.

??        Ensure appropriate Benefits Realisation Strategy is in place and monitor longer term delivery of benefits against the Business Case.



Benefits Management Strategy & Realisation: 

??        Ensuring integration and recording methods built into the IT delivery to be able to demonstrate benefits delivery

??        Tracking and monitoring data from a range of sources to understand progress towards benefits realisation (both qualitative and quantitative)

??        Identifying and managing additional benefits, dependencies and risks

??        Widespread stakeholder management across all groups in support of benefits delivery



Stakeholder Management

??        Work with Stakeholders and wider benefits management community to ensure benefits are identified, understood, owned and maximised.

??        Briefs key stakeholders ahead of benefits reviews.

??        Engages with organisations portfolio office to enhance and improve benefits management best practice.

??        Provide visible leadership on Benefits Management across the organisation and builds an effective benefits management community.

??        Provides expert guidance, support and advice on Benefits Management Practices



Business Case:

??        Support the project manager in preparing and updating the benefits elements of the Business Case working with specialists as required. 

??        Deliver the agreed Business Case benefits and outcomes.

??        Revisions to the Full Business Case during 2021



Desirable Skills

??        Law Enforcement / IT background would be beneficial due to the nature of the project

??        Ability to analysis qualitative and quantitative data

??        Experience in working across a range of stakeholders, influencing ways of working and encouraging accountability

??        Confident in use of MS Excel and PowerBI

??        Experience of presenting complex information to senior stakeholders

??        Understanding of MSP Benefits management approach
