We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Controller /Accountant to join a small team & functionally look after 2 people. You will be reporting to Telecoms UK Head of Finance.

This role will be working with a range of financial, non-financial stakeholders & key players - Project Controllers, Treasury, Budget & Reporting Controller, UK Head of Finance, Project Managers, Work Package Managers, UK Financial Director & a range of customers - as such, excellent communication, report creation & understanding is key.

This role comes with occasional UK travel.

As an experienced Project Controller / Accountant, your main duties will be:

On a quarterly basis:

- Amendments to the SAP CDP Pool to reflect the latest project financial status.

- provide complete programme EAC & actuals files to the customer

- Update the SSRO single source online reporting tool

On a monthly basis:

- Produce monthly consolidated financial reporting on project Key Performance Indicators comparing Actuals against Budget & Forecast

- Ensuring all deliverables are met with regard to monthly reporting to the operational business, to finance & the customer.

Day-to-day duties:

- Operationally managing 1 Project Controller who will support you.

- Managing the financial performance & accounts of one very large single source military satellite

- The review point of all financially relevant contractual matters with the customer & suppliers

- Overseeing & ensuring foreign currency coverage for the programme & to respond to the reporting requirements of treasury.

- Managing the allocation of cost to work package & critique deviations with the inputs from WPM & PM.

- Maintaining an awareness of the Risks & Opportunities on the projects & to actively support Risk Mitigation & Opportunity Attainment.

- Co-ordinate inputs from 3 Project Controllers to produce consolidated programme reporting packs

- Hold regular cost reviews with Work Package Managers to capture CTC e.g. Engineering, Procurement, etc. Take into account resourcing requirements.

- Analysis of project actual costs

- Forecasting of project resourcing/manpower requirements.

- Key subcontractor financial milestone management.

- Assist the Project Manager with creating Contract Change Notes / Change Proposals.

To be successful for this role you need the following skills / experience:

- Project Based experience within Aerospace Industry, or related industries.

- Working on high value projects - hundreds of millions of GBP.

- Good MS Excel literacy - such as Pivot tables & VLOOKUP.

- Knowledge of SAP.

- Financially aware with high business partnering acumen.

- Critical thinking & ability to constructively challenge the operational business.

- Good communication skills - an ability to make finance important to non-finance people.

- Demonstrate focus on team work.

- Good attention to detail, in particular for customer reporting.

Any experience in the following is desirable:

- Experience from management accounting role within a project based environment, CIMA or ACCA qualified.

- Some knowledge of MOD Single Source Reporting obligations & rules

- Prior experience working on MOD single source contracts

- A working knowledge of EVM (Earned Value Management)
