Senior DevOps Engineer - Leeds.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will take charge of the general DevOps process along with setting the strategies for products and the wider community. You will be working with senior stakeholders and lead architects to assist the development of AWS and Azure hybrid cloud platforms, in order to ensure the systems are fit for use. You will be accountable for the code and services your teams produce and administer.

You will also provide support and technical leadership to a team of DevOps Engineers along with providing oversight to the software and cloud development on AWS.

Your daily tasks will be

  • Lead a DevOps Engineering team providing support, technical leadership and guidance, creating a DevOps culture and implementing automation best practices.
  • This will include coaching, mentoring and supporting your team, taking responsibility for their decision-making and their professional development.
  • Work closely with senior officers, providing advice and suggesting courses of action, provide coaching, mentoring and support to Software and DevOps Engineer colleagues and peers.

You will have

  • experience of providing technical leadership and support within a team of DevOps Engineers
  • significant experience of Linux Operating Systems.
  • significant experience of Scripting systems using Terraform.
  • significant experience of Version Controls systems (Git and GitLab CI).
  • significant experience of building, deploying, supporting, patching and operating cloud applications (in particular AWS and Azure).
  • significant experience of containers and containerised workloads e.g. orchestration such as Kubernetes and ISTIO.
