Job Description Summary Our Software Development team is looking for a program manager to plan, organize and monitor a range of short and long-term software development programs that utilise both embedded real-time software and PC based software technologies. Our programs touch industries such as marine, metals and oil & gas; and involve multidisciplinary teams across Europe and India

Job Description Most important responsibilities/tasks
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
  • Utilise proven methodologies in Program Management, such as earned value management, to plan, manage and report on Software Development Projects.
  • Ensure that Software Development Projects are launched on time, on budget and within specification with the required level of quality.
  • Create and maintain detailed project plans, holding the responsible parties accountable to deadlines, maintaining risk logs, leading project meetings, and providing regular and timely updates to key stakeholders.
  • Liaise with other stakeholders for everything related to the execution of the software development projects.
  • Coordinate with other functions including Quality, Supply Chain, Finance and Marketing to identify and mitigate risks related to assigned projects.

Essential requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and extensive program management experience of complex software development projects.
  • Experience of combining Agile software development processes with formal planning methods to address both software task management and formal milestone tracking / resource loading.
  • Experience with project planning software such as MS Project, or similar, is required.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including experience presenting to executive level stakeholders. Ability to interact effectively with different business departments and team members.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and drive results. Desire to make an impact & to continuously find ways to maximise the team's operational efficiency.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • The successful candidate needs to be able to attain security clearance to work on Naval projects.
Desired characteristics
  • Formal qualifications in Program Management (PMP, or similar).
  • Experience of managing both embedded real-time and PC based software development projects.
  • Experience from working in Engineering/Technical companies similar to our own.
  • Knowledge of IEC 62443 & other cyber security standards.
