Business Analyst– Central Government Department  

The challenges facing the UK Government following the UK’s exit from the EU, this Central Government department has a significant number of Programmes and major Projects, both inflight and being commissioned, that are in need of increased PPM support, best practice and delivery support. Due to this unprecedented level of change, they have requested that Reed Professional Services (RPS) provide assistance in raising the level of Project and Programme Management expertise within the organisation. Due to the associated unprecedented level of change required, this Central Government department, in order to further compliment the team delivering these programmes, RPS have an exciting opportunity for several Business Analysts to join our team of experts in ensuring the success of the projects.  

Who will you be working for?  

RPS provide project delivery and tailored PMO services, helping our customer’s projects go from concept to completion. Our project delivery services are custom tailored to meet individual needs, whilst drawing on broad market experience and proven methodology from a variety of sectors including Media, Banking and Central Government. We keep the end goal firmly in mind and can scale as in line with customer needs.  

What will you be doing?  

As a core member of RPS’s Business Analyst Team, you will help our client across a broad cross section of programmes that need support both to raise understanding of the level of Business Analysis, owing to the unprecedented level of change required.  

Using your Business Analysis skills, you will deliver the Business Change and underpinning system solutions required to solve the problems being faced around import controls having left the EU . You will Support process testing and implement resulting changes along with aligning process and IT solutions and requirements.

  • Experience: Demonstrable success in similar roles, with comparable end goals and responsibilities on projects of this scale and complexity, ideally on a consultancy basis with prior experience in working with Central Government Functions.  
  • Skills: You’ll demonstrate a deep understanding of business function reviews, engagement plan development and the creation of end to end process maps (Agile Environment). The management of SME interviews and workshops will be part of your remit, along with managing governance and high-level decision making, so you’ll have plenty of opportunity to apply your experience in these areas to Demonstrable experience of defining and agreeing Target Operating Models(TOM) along with prior experience of supporting crisis contingencies
  • Characteristics: There’s frequent internal and external stakeholder management involved, so you should be a compelling and considered influencer, with a consultative and approachable demeanour that will enable your team to deliver to the best of its ability.   

  

 

As with all RPS work packages at the moment – until further notice and in line with UK 

Government guidelines, this role will be fully remote. However, should this change – consultants would be expected to available for travel to client site locations – primarily Westminster, London.
