Head of Management Information and Assurance

A unique role with a £100million+ pound turnover c600 staff operation delivering software and data as a service into some of the most critical national infrastructure, financial services and retail business in the UK.

With 5 business units operating under the central group, this role is the central ground for all when it comes to management information and quality assurance and reports into the Managing Director for the group.

A business that is agile by nature with multiple income streams and multiple future bid opportunities, this role is critical in binding all financial and quality data to ensure business unit reporting is in line with group finance and compliance.

This role does not sit within the Accounting function where there will be significant support and is commercially strategic.

Aspects within the role include but are not limited to;

  • To prepare, produce and present the Group Financial Forecasts twice monthly.
  • To maintain performance management reports and respond to ad-hoc report requests from the group Managing Director.
  • To coordinate and check forecast updates provided by Business Group leaders and their project office and accounts staff.
  • To investigate variances between forecasts and actuals and work with BU Groups, accounts, payroll and HR to ensure high data quality.
  • To maintain group staff cost data and produce associated reports including weekly updates for joiners/leavers, holiday cost relief monitoring, cost centre changes, pay rises, etc.
  • To coordinate pay reviews and approvals with senior management. Notify BU leaders of approvals, plus performance targets and associated bonus/commission payments.
  • To coordinate Risk Level Assessment forms with senior management.
  • To assist BU Groups with purchase orders and invoice approvals as required. Includes central coordination of Government Framework Contract Office invoice payment.

The role will also oversee ISO certifications, ISO9001 and ISO27001 and lead dialogue with accreditation provider as well line manage the Quality and Compliance Manager.

An accountancy qualification is desirable but not essential. What is essential is the understanding of financial data and communicating it to non-financial individuals.
