We are currently searching for Transformation Portfolio Managers that we are recruiting on behalf of the Ministry of Defence for a 6-month initial contract based in Shrivenham.

As Transformation Portfolio Manager, you will: 

• Support the SRO in the design and development of the Defence Academy Transformation Portfolio ensuring strategic priorities are met.
• Support the initiation of priority activity; to include definition of scope and resource requirements.
• Set priorities for resource allocation.
• Work closely with Academy stakeholders, SMEs and the PMO in the planning and tracking of transformational progress against the Portfolio.
• Ensure that actions are progressed and highlighting areas where insufficient information is likely to cause concern.
• Pro-actively identify issues which may hinder delivery and suggesting solutions to the SRO.
• Ensure that the Portfolio risk register is updated on a regular basis and that the information captured is up to date and can be reported on in an efficient manner.
• Produce and maintain highlight/checkpoint reports for Portfolio boards e.g. Portfolio dashboards; minutes/actions and presentation slides.
• Ensure that there is robust adherence to PPM processes including planning; risk management; dependency management and change control.

You’ll have:

• Valid and active SC Clearance
• Experience of working on a large portfolio of projects across a number of functions including Digital, Organisation Development, Estates, Facilities, and business change
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to engage and manage stakeholders at a senior level
• The ability to document and simplify complex information and present it to senior management and stakeholders in clear language and visualisations
• Experience with Risks, Issues, and Dependencies
• The ability to have a pragmatic approach to decision making and ensuring that the portfolio can progress with resources available
