Experienced SIA Security Guard with Counter Terrorism Check (CTC) clearance

We are looking for pro-active, well-presented, experienced guards who take pride in their work.

Duties include: -

Maintain entrances and access points, ensuring only authorised personnel may enter the site
Monitor and authorise the entrance and departure of employees, contractors and other persons, to guard against theft and maintain security of the premises. This may involve the examination of hand baggage, parcels or vehicles, in accordance with Site guidelines.
Maintain constant security of site in order to take immediate action to deal with fire alarms, intruder alarms, the communications systems and to be alert to any suspicious activity.
Provide regular, high profile, internal and external patrols of the premises to prevent and detect any signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows and gates, and to safeguard confidential material/information.
To have a thorough knowledge of the Site plan/layout in order to respond to emergencies/incidents effectively.
Ensure a smart, well-groomed appearance in approved company uniform, provide a first class customer service and display high levels of providing a professional service
Be aware of, and report, any incidents or suspicious activities, in person or via radio communication and record accurate reports of activities and irregularities in Incident /Daily Occurrence book.
To greet and provide assistance to visitors/contractors with relevant security procedures carried out such as screening, ensuring completion of signing in/out sheets and issuing “Security Checked” tags where appropriate.
Ensure that all vehicles entering the Site adhere to the Site guidelines of designated parking areas with particular note taken of all vehicles left overnight.
To answer telephone calls/radio message to provide assistance to, and liaise with the arrival of visitors/contractors, “out of hours” enquiries and other relevant occurrences.
Ensure that a thorough site lock-down patrol is carried out on a nightly basis and that all area/door alarms are activated.
Maintain a reasonable level of fitness in order to perform duties including, responding to activated intruder alarms, knowing how to handle threatening situations, apprehending and warning persons of Site Rule violations and the eviction of violators from premises, using force where necessary.
To confidently, clearly and concisely operate radio for emergency situations
Complete all necessary security /site documentation to ensure a proper audit trail.
Carry out duties to help support Avondale construction's mission statement.

Experience working in Government buildings is of benefit.

Candidates must have the following qualifications: -

Counter Terrorism Check (CTC) Clearance
Current SIA licence (Level 2 Door Supervision or Level 2 Security Guard)
SIA CCTV Licence (ideally)
Construction related CSCS Card (ideally)
Other qualifications such as Emergency First Aid at Work or Fire Marshal would be of benefit
