This is a unique opportunity to lead the development of UK Law Enforcement’s national strategy to tackle Cybercrime, and represent the National Cyber Crime Unit (NCCU) in strategic engagement and briefing with stakeholders across the NCA, National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC), wider Government and Industry.

This is an exciting, high profile role with substantial exposure to senior leadership across NCA, NCSC and Whitehall, alongside the opportunity to develop subject matter expertise in the Cybercrime mission.

Job description

Main Responsibilities are to;

• Lead the development of UK Law Enforcement’s strategy for tackling Cybercrime, working closely with NPCC and NCSC partners, through the Strategic Governance Group (SGG), associated 4P Groups, and the Strategic Action Plan (SAP).
• Communicate the strategy, and its associated tactical delivery plans, effectively to NCA, NPCC, NCSC and other stakeholders.
• Establish mechanisms for measuring and reporting the performance of NCCU, ROCUs and Police Forces against the Cybercrime threat and capturing their wider contribution to other SOC and National Security missions.
• Lead NCCU briefings on the Cybercrime threat and response to senior NCA, NCSC, Whitehall and Ministerial audiences, leading a team of desk officers to deliver a range of written products.
• Play a lead role in the development of Cybercrime Policy.
• Own the NCCU corporate Risk portfolio, responsible for the reporting of corporate risks to NCA central teams.

As a leader in the NCA you will also:

• collaborating with external partners to integrate, coordinate and amplify the UK national response to Serious and organised crime.

Doing so, you will balance financial and people resources to deliver against changing priorities.


***All NCA officers must hold SC Enhanced upon entry as a minimum. To meet the National Security Vetting requirements for this role you will need to have resided in the UK for a minimum of 3 out of the past 5 years. For more information please see the Candidate information Pack***

Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. The level of security needed is security check.

People working with government assets must complete basic personnel security standard checks.
