About the role
We're looking for two Project Engineers to join us at HMNB Devonport, one of the largest naval bases in Western Europe. We're a key strategic partner to our customers; the MOD and the Royal Navy. We ensure that the UK Royal Navy goes to sea safely by supporting them in Devonport and around the world, delivering complex ship and submarine sustainment programmes and applying our core strengths of technology and expertise to sustain critical and complex assets to help maintain national security.

As a Project Engineer you'll join the Configuration and Due Process Team who are committed to the development and implementation of configuration management for our Engineering Services Business Unit, facilitating configuration and due process activities across Facilities Engineering and administering the tools used.

You'll be the focal point for Change Management activities in support of the Office of Chief Engineer - managing the suitable delivery of configuration control and interfacing with the Technical Authority and the Design Authority to facilitate and support the process and assisting in the resolution of issues.
You'll have specific responsibility for aspects of the Change Management Process, including but not limited to: administrating change requests, forward action plans, management action plans, technical queries, asset health sheets, maintaining the Action Matrix and tracking actions through to closure. You'll support the Senior Configuration Engineers, administering key configuration records and processes including Concessions, Defect Condition Reports and Design Reviews etc.

What do I need to do the role?
You'll be educated to minimum ONC level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline. Document Management experience in a regulated environment, plus an understanding of relational database methodology would be highly advantageous.

We would also like you to have the following
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Vault
  • Proficient in SharePoint and Microsoft Office applications, including Access
  • Diligent with Document Management and Compliance processes
  • A keen eye for detail, excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise
  • Demonstrates initiative and a flexible attitude.
Lastly, you have good interpersonal and effective communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to interface effectually with Engineering Teams and stakeholders at all levels of the business.

What else do I need to know?
The successful candidate may need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
