The Role of a PMO Programme Planner SupportAs Programme Planning Support, your main function will be to work alongside the to support PMO Planning Lead with the development and maintenance of the Integrated Programme Plan for this national Programme. This role sits within the PMO Deployment and Delivery Team interfacing with multiple internal and external workstreams, 3rd party suppliers, as well as the Home Office Central PMO Team.
The Project Complexity level is ???High??? which is generally characterised as having a high degree of uncertainty, large size, political sensitivity, technical complexity, large and complex set of stakeholders, and often need procedures and methodologies to be adapted to suit unique situations.
Essential Criteria and competencies:?? Schedule management within Portfolio / Programme / Project management in a complex delivery and contractual environment.?? Ability to take ownership and drive through tasks to completion ?? Understanding of PMO Dependency, Risk, Issue and Change Management requirements?? Excellent organisation and coordination skills?? Demonstrable experience of working with Delivery Partners and 3rd Party Suppliers?? Strong interpersonal skills. ?? Establish credibility and exert influence with key stakeholders and suppliers at an operational level.?? Identifying and resolving issues with demonstrable ability to find innovative ways to resolve problems or escalate as required?? Maintain effective performance in difficult and challenging circumstance?? Extensive experience of various scheduling software, such as MS Project Online?? Experience of working in a team environment, contributing to team video calls, capturing planning related actions, risks and issues.
Typical role and responsibilities
The post holder will report to the Programme Lead Planner and will be accountable for their own work and have responsibility for the following:?? Support the Programme Lead Planner in the maintenance of the integrated programme plan, coordinating plan changes and obtaining approval via governance ?? Communicate progress and modification of plans to relevant stakeholders using a variety of reporting mechanisms?? Produce planning data / management information for regular programme governance forums?? Provide proactive feedback and insight to the Programme Lead Planner and Planners, and support with identification and management of planning related risks and issues?? Analyse the integrated programme plan to identify critical path and drive insights into delivery performance or planning improvements ?? Undertake assurance activities and planning analysis across all plans within the programme WBS, to drive plan quality, management information and support impact analysis?? Provide feedback to enhance programme planning standards and related ways of working across the programme (e.g. assumptions and dependency management)?? Maintain the ESMCP Document Repository for ???Planning????? Maintain the ESN Network Plan on a Page (POAP)
