Interim Head of Quality - Remote Working
Pay Rate: Up to £1030 per day pay range subject to IR35 status
Key Accountabilities:
- Leading a Quality Team of two / three Senior Quality Managers, the HQ Quality Assurance and Compliance To be responsible for leading the design and development of a Quality Management System (QMS)
- To provide recommendations to sustain the QMS, including the management of a sustainable quota of Quality Practitioners, to ensure continued compliance with JSP 940 (Policy for Quality). The application of JSP 940 assures acquisition, engineering and logistics support in the delivery of Defence capability. This includes the development and implementation of a QMS, using the principles defined in the ISO 9001 standard.
- Seeking best practice, ensuring compliance with JSP 940 and delivery of an effective QMS and recommendations for enduring management and support by 31 March 2021
- Analysing and evaluating findings from the scoping exercise, offering guidance and direction to the organisation on how improvement may be achieved.
- Establish procedures to create / identify and manage a sustainable quota of Quality practitioners
- Senior stakeholder engagement and briefing on all aspects of compliance and development of the QMS.
- Act as the Quality Management and Compliance SME reporting to D Sp through Chief Engineer
- Construct detailed schedules and deliver against them to ensure all necessary preparation and execution tasks and dependencies are included.
- Provide effective and routine reports to senior management weekly / monthly.
- Identify Change Management requirements. Plan, manage and monitor the implementation of changes, including impact assessment, resource analysis, conflict resolution and contingency planning.
- Management of associated risk
Key Requirements:
- Significant experience in supporting an organisation with a quality management system that maintains ISO standards and dealing with any associated certification / accreditation bodies
- Membership of an industry related professional body would be desirable
- Relevant business / engineering degree is preferred, or HND, BTEC Professional Level 5 Award or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualifications
- Demonstrate strong skills in the following areas; organisational and planning, Communication, Statistical analysis & Problem-solving
