DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Your daily role responsibilities with our company will be as follows:

  • A Full life cycle server infrastructure: architecture, design, administration, implementation and support including CPU, memory, disk utilisations/capacity planning and adjusting new requirements as well as monitor and audit system utilisation, and performance with focus on VMware virtualisation
  • Leads enterprise base work initiatives and projects,
  • Develops enhanced production monitoring and additional capability,
  • Defines improvements increased system reliability and performance,
  • Acts as the technical liaison between operations teams, engineers and architects, providing critical operational insight to upcoming implementations and strategies, including validation of ongoing solutions supportability,
  • Participates in short- and long-term planning efforts with stakeholders and IT groups
  • Develops cost/time estimates,
  • Documents discussion and agreements,
  • Works with project managers to coordinate and plan project tasks and resources,
  • Participates in business requirements meetings as needed,
  • Communicates events to stakeholders, IT teams, and leadership,
  • Produces work related documentation and diagrams ensuring that they are maintained periodically within their life cycle,
  • Provides technical guidance, coaching/mentoring to team members,
  • Participate/perform in root cause analysis for significant problems and suggests clear recommendations for improvements,
  • Coordinates problem resolution among a variety of functional areas and provides subject matter expertise support for diagnosing and resolving problems,
  • Develops scripted solutions and automation,
  • Coordinates changes across multiple systems. Schedule, coordinate and lead planned downtimes,
  • Accurately update comments and status to tickets via ticketing system,
  • Participate in on-call activities
  • May need to travel to other NCIA units in other countries, work in shifts, service-affecting activities and contingency work outside of regular business hours

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

If you have passion for the work described above, here are the basic qualifications we are looking for:

  • Professional experience in a production environment for a number of years with VMware NSX 6.3 and newer, VMware vRealize Automation & vRealize Orchestrator 8 and newer and Solarwinds IPAM solution.
  • Professional experience with VMware vROPS 8.1 and its integration with VMware vRA
  • Hands-on experience with data centre management including virtualization using VMWare ESXi, blade & rack mount servers
  • Good understanding of Active Directory, Windows Server and Linux and SAN and iSCSI storage
  • Able to document current design & configuration and to develop/maintain Standard Operation Procedures/Instructions and training guidance
  • Prior Systems Engineering Experience is Required
  • ITIL Service Operation knowledge
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication and skills
  • Fluent English in both spoken and written
  • NATO Secret Security Clearance

DESIRED SKILLS 

  • Detailed knowledge of the MARCOM infrastructure design and service operations
  • VMware lifecycle manager experience (highly desirable)
  • Windows SCCM installation experience (highly desirable)
  • Master Degree in Engineering or Computer Science and four (5) years’ experience; or Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Computer Science and six (6) years’ experience; or Major Certification (VMware VCAP) and seven (7) year experience; or no degree/certification and eleven (11) years’ experience.
  • VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP Deploy or Design)
  • Strong Experience with Powershell/PowerCLI
  • VMware SRM
  • Professional experience with VMware Horizon (linked and instant clones)
  • Experience on vSphere Replication, VMware VUM, Powershell/PowerCLI, VMWare vSAN, VMware Log Insight and DevOps
  • Experience with configuration management tools (eg: Ansible)
  • Automation scripting experience (Python, etc) and control version (eg: git)
  • BMC/ITSM Ticketing system and integration with vRealize Suite
  • ITIL certification
