Role Detail:


BAE Systems are excited to offer an opportunity to the right individual as a Senior BI Developer leading an agile development team within the Air Sector business unit. You will be a key member of a high performing team ensuring our Business Intelligence & Analytics Competency Centre (BIACC) outputs are delivered with a keen focus on customer satisfaction.


As the team lead, you will be developing leading-edge business intelligence solutions or solving complex business challenges and providing significant insight from data. A key responsibility will be to work closely with stakeholders at all levels understanding their requirements, designing and delivering Business Intelligence & Analytical solutions that provide meaningful outputs to the business. Great importance is attached to developing individuals within the teams and you will guide and mentor junior members enabling them to reach their full potential.

Role Requirements:


??? Responsible for managing a team of BI Developers who design, develop and maintain business intelligence solutions within an iterative development environment

??? Triage and allocate requests for development activities within the team

??? Estimate new Business Needs and schedule work into development teams

??? Working within an Agile Development framework, lead regular development sprints ensuring work is appropriately prioritized and distributed during daily standups.

??? Working with stakeholders, analysts and other developers to understand systems and collaborate on the implementation of appropriate BI solutions.

??? Translate business requirements and rules in into technical design specifications.

??? Build and deploy BI solutions using appropriate code standards, configuration and change management process and procedures.

??? Working with multidimensional and relational data sets to support the creation of Models and Cubes.

??? Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses on source data.

??? Ensure test plans, unit tests and peer reviews are carried out for all development.

??? Update all development activities in BIACC change management database and ensure all statuses follow a development lifecycle.

??? Ensure developments are to an agreed standard and represent the team at Release Advisory Board meetings (RAB) using your knowledge and understanding of release and deployment process including configuration control to ensure a safe release of code takes place.

??? Working closely with key stakeholders within business functions to transition completed development to business as usual ensuring any guides, training materials and documentation is provided alongside the capability delivered.

??? Support the development of Business Continuity plans for deployed solutions and they are regularly updated.

??? Ensure where incidents are routed to your team for resolution, they are resolved within the agreed service level agreements.

??? Identify risks within the services being provided and ensure they are registered within the Risk Register and mitigations developed.


Essential Experience:


??? Experience in modelling datasets

??? Developing Business Intelligence reports and dashboards

??? Proficient Agile methodology experience

??? Customer focused with a ???can-do??? attitude

??? Comfortable to create technical designs from business requirements.

??? Strong technical background together with the ability to understand technical instructions and communicate these onto others


You will be confident in leading a team of developers and working within the wider BIACC team with the minimum of supervision. You will be responsible for ensuring work assigned to your team delivers the customer requirement to schedule and meeting internal quality measures.
