The Strategic Hub is a newly established team within Organisational Learning, implemented to enhance our approach to understanding, planning and managing organisational & operational demands.

The Hub will provide a dedicated thinking and learning capability, to successfully influence the organisation in shaping a culture of personal responsibility & empowerment. Delivering real change to the future of policing in Hertfordshire and helping to support improvements in Force service delivery.

In order to deliver its aim, this new strategic team requires a dedicated analytical capacity and is looking to recruit two Business Development Analysts.

Reporting to managers within the Hub, the role will primarily involve the development and dissemination of Business and Management Information Statistics, including interpreting data and contributing to the collation of the annual Force Management Statement (FMS). As well as assisting to deliver the remaining remit of the Hub and administrative support to enable the efficient provision of service.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Plan, design and collate relevant, accurate data for the purposes of management and performance information.
• Develop, analyse and present business information, identifying emerging problems, trends and areas for improvement.
• Identify and provide training and advice to inform and guide others in the use, interpretation and development of business information.
• Model business processes in order to identify areas for improvement.
• Specific projects and consultations in order to support organisational objectives.
• Interrogate other organisation's practices to identify techniques that may improve the products and services of Constabulary Corporate Development.
• Supporting the management of the Hub in the preparation of strategic position papers to senior managers.

The postholder will require the ability to understand research and analysis, including threats and risks, and the ability to demonstrate a sound working knowledge of, or experience in;

• the use of a wide range of computer systems, databases and spread sheet packages,
• research methodologies,
• data collection and interpretation of statistical and research analysis,
• presentation of numeric analysis.

Maintaining and managing information and previous involvement in the development of policies, procedures & processes, would be an advantage.
