Job Description Summary Leading the HR team on a large and complex engineering and manufacturing site (c.1600 employees), you will be the primary point of contact for client group leaders, developing and executing HR strategy & processes in support of the business objectives. You will provide expertise & guidance in the areas of culture & change management, strategic coaching, talent assessment & development, succession planning, performance management, HR client management/employee support & organizational design.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Partner with client managers to develop and execute both long-term and short-term HR strategies that directly support and enable business objectives

  • Partner with client managers to develop and embed a contemporary organizational culture, supporting the business with operational elements of HR practice as well as assisting in driving broad change

  • Lead and develop the HR team (including Payroll) and provide appropriate coaching, mentoring and development opportunities to support their growth

  • Develop and drive effective employee and union relations strategies at a site level

  • Effectively deliver to a broad range of stakeholders within a highly matrixed global HR team, driving connections and effective working relationships across multiple functional areas

  • Act as an organizational and simplification coach who builds organizational capabilities, reduces complexity and partners with clients to maximize team performance

  • Strategically partner with client managers to design and implement the most effective organizational structures and manage transitions and change programmes

  • Provide timely, effective and direct coaching to client group managers, assisting in the development of strong, contemporary leadership skills

  • Provide strategic coaching to business leaders and key talent related to succession planning, career path development, and performance management

  • Lead leadership assessment in the organization, identifying key employee strengths and development needs in order to recognize, select, retain and develop key talent

  • Lead succession planning and talent development strategies for the organization, identifying critical roles and preparing potential talent and pipelines mentoring, training, etc.

  • Partner with the HR team to ensure high quality implementation of critical HR operating rhythms such as people review, salary planning and performance management, leveraging assistance as appropriate

  • Develop and oversee strategies to attract, develop, engage and retain strong and diverse talent

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in related area (or equivalent work experience)
  • Significant proven HR experience required in a manufacturing / engineering environment
  • Significant experience in leading and developing an HR team
  • Significant experience working in a unionised business, in a heavily matrixed organisation
