Due to growth within our team, we are looking for an experienced Governance, Audit & Compliance Manager to join our team and provide assurance to the Director and wider Senior Management Team (SMT) in relation to contract compliance and performance measures. You will report directly to the Assistant Director Governance and People Services with all contractual and performance related information.

This non-operational role is critical in ensuring that all functions are operating in compliance to their statutory and contractual obligations. You will effectively plan and deliver a comprehensive, dynamic annual audit timetable that supports the performance of all function across the establishment.

This is the perfect opportunity for someone who has the obvious experience of audit related work and is looking at progressing their career with Serco and directly support the SMT. You will line manage the Governance and Performance Team and also the Investigations and Litigation Team.

Your leadership qualities and engagement with external partners and stakeholders will play a part in delivering on the following:

  • Ensure that a programme of Internal Performance and Compliance Audits is in operation, coordinating the work of the Internal Audit Team, quality check completed reports and manage the administration of rectification of non-compliance
  • Support Internal Auditors with the completion of the audit programme.
  • Support external audit teams during their inspections and act as the liaison officer, ensuring that all actions are monitored and delivered on time
  • Chair and deliver a monthly Performance Review meeting with the Senior Management Team
  • Ensure that performance data is available for all staff to view, using visual aids such as posters and presentation tools
  • Manage the Investigations and Litigation department, acting as liaison with the legal and insurance teams and chairing the monthly meeting with the Contract Director

You will have the desire and confidence to develop within this role, using personal skills and experience to support the department's growth.

Finally, you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills; a natural analytical leader with diligence and attention to detail skills.
