About the role:
Here at Cavendish Nuclear we are looking to recruit a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join our embedded team with EDF to support reactive maintenance and fault-finding provision for plant equipment at Torness Power Station.

FRTAG provide Fuel Route first line support for planned preventative maintenance and emergent work thus ensuring that all planned work week activities are completed to schedule.

Key responsibilities:
At all times to have a nuclear safety focus in all activities and responsibilities undertaken. Take an active role to ensure that activities support safe and reliable operation of the plant and maintain full compliance within agreed safety and environmental standards and expectations.

Ensure that activities are carried out and completed with full regard to site licence requirements, statutory regulations, company and location directives, procedures and safety rules and to behave in accordance with EDF Energy competences for team members and leaders.

You will act as the Responsible person for control and supervision of maintenance for license compliance, as well as first point of contact for technical issues.

You will Author/verify work orders to support emergent and improvement maintenance activities, as well as leading trouble shooting for complex defects. This will include assisting in the investigation of reportable occurrences or significant operating events e.g. CAP, OE etc.

Some of the main day to day tasks involve supporting engineering department with maintenance issues, provision of technical specifications for emergent spares issues, producing and advising on Task Briefs and impact statements.

What do I need to do this role?
• Degree or HNC in related mechanical engineering discipline preferred
• Ideally have Nuclear Site working experience or other high hazard / high regulated sector such as Oil & Gas, Rail, Power Generation etc.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence to ensure reactive maintenance is carried our safely and in line with business and site requirements
• Ability to diagnose and fix faults with a variety of mechanical plant
• Able to produce work orders for teams of technicians with clear instruction of work to be carried out

What else do I need to know?
