Salary, from £17,750 pro rata
1x Full time (37 hours) Monday to Friday
1x Part time (32 hours) Monday to Friday
About the Role:
Serco works in a strategic partnership with Peterborough City Council in the heart of the city, to transform the quality of local services for our citizens. We currently have an opportunity to join our team as a Business Support Officer in the Regulatory Services Team.
Regulatory Services is comprised of Environmental Health which includes Food Hygiene, Health & Safety, Pollution Control & Housing Enforcement; Trading Standards & Licensing. All of the work undertaken by those services ensures the safety of the public in their home, their work, the places they visit and the products they use, through effective compliance and enforcement work by working closely with businesses and licence holders. Every service area has a range of legislation, policies and practices that underpins the work they do.
Reporting into the Team Manager you will be responsible for responsible for ensuring an efficient and effective administration service. Adhoc administrative tasks including but not limited to photocopying, report collation, filing, diary management
Training will be provided but it will be beneficial for the successful candidate to have previous experience in a similar environment.
About you
The successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills, working both individually and as part of a team in high detail to ensure total accuracy. They will also acquire strong communication skills as you will be working with a wide and diverse range of people. The post holder must be able to prioritise and work to tight deadlines and acquire the ability to quickly understand the council's processes, including the reporting cycle and the business processes used to assist and aid the client with their workload. Quick and accurate keyboard skills are also essential.
