Maintenance Electrician
Whetstone, Leicestershire
Up to £32,000 DOE
Permanent 37 hours a week

Our mission is simple and drives our behaviour in everything that we do: Cavendish Nuclear - people who innovate to deliver nuclear services safer, faster and at lower cost. We are proud to be the UK's leading supplier to the nuclear industry and a growing global force. From our inception during the earliest days of nuclear research and development, we recognised that a focus on people and the expertise they deliver is the key to meeting the challenges of this exciting technology.

We've been true to that idea ever since and our approach has seen us bring together much of the UK's rich nuclear heritage, delivered through a highly skilled workforce of 7,000 nuclear suitably qualified personnel, to create the innovative organisation you see today.

Based at our manufacturing facility at Whetstone, we are looking for a proactive, dedicated and enthusiastic maintenance technician to join our team. This role also requires support, maintenance and repair of in-house manufacturing equipment and checks, and maintenance of building electrical systems, as well as overseeing contractor work.

Individuals are required to be conscientious, have an eye for detail and ability to spot and report issues which may become future problems. Safety, quality and reliability are key elements in everything we do due to the nature of the equipment.

Typical work includes performing electrical isolations, testing and commissioning as well as PAT Testing and equipment repair as required. You would also be required to low level fault find and repair on industrial machines (lathes, milling machines, some CNC).

At times of reduced maintenance work you will be required to support work in electrical labs, this work will consist of assembly, repair and wiring of small electronic modules, boxes, PCB units and electrical / electronic control and indication panels and cubicles.

This is a highly rewarding position working within a market leading nuclear engineering organisation that will give you the opportunity to develop your skills and experience across a variety of nuclear projects. We support UK and international nuclear power stations with a range of services and strive to be best in class across our various contracts.

What do I need to do the role?

• Relevant electrical qualifications
• 17th or 18th edition certified.
• To have in-depth experience of electrical maintenance activities.
