About the role

Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a Nuclear Repair Welder to join the team.
 
You will carry out welding activities on all plant system pipework on submarines and shore based installations.
 
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team with exposure to a unique environment.
 
What do I need to do the role?
 
You will hold a recognised fabrication/welding Apprenticeship to at least N/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent, along with a National Certificate as a minimum. You will demonstrate previous welding experience, including significant experience of pipe welding and be comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
 
Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:
 
  • Experience of MMA process and proficient at TIG welding on small-bore pipework encompassing Carbon Steels, Stainless Steels and Copper Nickels, previous experience of working with maintenance technical instructions, welding procedures and acceptance standards
  • Experience of FCAW and Mechanised welding would be advantageous.
  • CSWIP 3.0 and PCN LPI lev 2 qualified is desirable but not compulsory.
  • Experience of utilising Work to Risk, COSHH assessments and Safe Systems of Work.
 
What else do I need to know?
Post is based at HMNB Clyde just north of Helensburgh in the West of Scotland. We are well placed for commuter links to Glasgow and the wider region, with easy access for car and public transport.
 
The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
