THE ROLE OF AN ORACLE ADMINISTRATORThe Bank has a requirement for an experienced Oracle Administrator to join the Infrastructure Group which is involved in the standards, development and maintenance of a number of systems across the organisation. The resource would work under Linux and Database team structure reporting to the Team Leader/Service Owner Working on a Mixture of BAU/Continuous Improvement /Project works.
The successful candidate will be assigned to BAU, tickets Incidents and Work Orders, BAU Improvements and projects work on a rotation basis as needed. BAU will be primary focus for a period to gain understanding of the estate, including any support of the daily meetings and service management support around any service impacting tickets.
Candidates must have experience of administering oracle 11g, 12c and 19c ??? Dataguard would be an advantage.
The work will be mixed and varied and will include working closely with other Infrastructure teams, infrastructure team leaders, and application support teams. There may be a requirement to cover an on-call rota, working evenings or weekends

- Database administration & supportInvestigate SCOM alerts for oracle databasesOn Call support as neededDB patching according to patching cycleAutomation of routine tasks as well as handover of application administration tasks to relevant teamsDatabase migrationsProblem Solve complex issues & IT problems
ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES:
- Solid background of experience in Oracle administration Strong experience of installing, configuring and administering Oracle databases using best practicesExperience of working and configuration of servers using CIS standardsProven track record in administration within a highly professional environmentProcess DocumentationOracle 1 experienceSolid experience of utilising dataguard
DESIRABLE SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience of working with a Migration environmentExposure to Cloud and use of Oracle/AzureExcellent technical skills, good analytical, problem management and interpersonal skillsAbility to work successfully under pressure. They must be dedicated to the tasks undertaken and be committed to providing a quality, reliable and efficient service to the stakeholders. Demonstrated structured approach to work as well as being able to deal with people professionally at all levelsExcellent customer facing skills for liaison with application database owners and end business usersOracle 19c knowledge
