Currently have a requirement for a DV Cleared 1st Line Service Desk Analyst, to assist my client on a secure project until March 2021, with view for possible further extension. 

This role will require the successful candidate to be based on site in Hampshire, working on a shift basis, 4 days on, 4 days off. Contractors will be provided with a rota, where they will work 4 shifts either 7am - 7pm or 7pm - 7am. There may also be the requirement for contractors to be available for on call work, so flexibility is key for this role.

Due to the nature of the role and the time scale and requirements issued by the client, candidates have been advised to hold current and active DV (Developed Vetting) clearance for this role, due to the nature of the project you will be working on.

Overview:

The secure account programme is contracted to supply both hardware and software infrastructure solutions to support the account’s common based solution, based on Windows 2008 server and Vista workstation products.  Experienced 1st Line support technicians with Windows Server experience willing and able to take on additional training to create a multi-skilled technician able to cover a wide range of tasks in the day-to-day support of a new IT system.  Tasks will range from a share of Service Desk duties recording incidents and attempting first time fix.

The role will require each member of the Service Delivery team to work with a culture of Continuous Improvement in line with standards, creating/updating Processes and Work Instructions accordingly.

Some initial training will take place on the operational system.  There will be notified periods of on call when out of hours call out and response on site will be required.  Periodic visits to a remote disaster recovery site and short periods of remote working or operation may be required. 

Shift Requirements:

Shifts covering 24/7 for 365 days a year including bank holidays. 

Role currently requires candidates to alternate between working day shifts (approx 7am to 7pm) and night shifts (approx. 7pm to 7am). There will be a rota, however the expectation is that this contractor will always be on call when not on shift.

There will be regular periods of on call when out of hours call out and response on site will be required.  Periodic visits to a remote disaster recovery site and short periods of remote working or operation may be required.

Key Skills / Experience:

  • Experience of working in “clamped” environment
  • Sub-System testing the Windows server and UAD packaged solutions
  • Experience of secure IT infrastructures

Other essential skills:

  • Self starter with good interpersonal and customer liaison skills.
  • Ability to work in close co-operation with customer staff.
  • Familiarity with secure systems & standards.
  • Experience of working in “clamped” environment.
  • Windows Server and Windows UAD build & configuration.
  • Sub-System testing the Windows server and UAD packaged solutions.
  • Storing the outputs in the Configuration Management system.
  • Investigating and resolving defects in current package.
  • Adhering to the appropriate standards and procedures.
  • Team player and flexible to the changing business requirements.
  • Willing to travel to required locations at specified times.
  • Experience of secure IT infrastructures
  • Active Directory/GPO’s/Security Clamp.
  • Microsoft products of Exchange, Windows 2008 & 2003 administration, Vista experience.
  • Windows Server-based system support role.
  • Experience of any of the following products/technologies;
  • VMWare, Virtualisation, Documentum
  • Anti-Virus Packages
  • SAN technologies
