Role: Senior DevOps Engineer
Location: Swindon
Type: Permanent
Salary: up to £54k basic (+ Civil Service pension scheme)

Are you a successful, dynamic and passionate DevOps/ Senior DevOps Engineer? Our well-established, and forward-thinking client are seeking a Senior DevOps professional, to be at the forefront of their growth, within an Agile software development team.
 
This innovate Public Sector organisation, with a budget of £6+ billion, are working on cutting-edge technologies, at a pivotal stage of research. The successful DevOps Engineer will be a key enabler of major transformation programme within the organisation. You will be required to define, implement, manage and maintain hosting environments, working with suppliers to ensure fit for service architecture/processes are delivered.
 
Key responsibilities:

• Transform technical requirements into DevOps processes
• Manage live and test environments
• Improve system robustness, resilience and stability
• Building and configuring new server platforms and infrastructure, using automated tooling to do so

Core technical competencies:

• System Administration (CentOS and RHEL)
• Scripting and language skills (Ruby/ Python/ Bash/ Java)
• Automated environment build tooling (Terraform for Infra as code)
• Databases (Oracle/ PL-SQL/ SQL server etc)
• Containerization (docker), container orchestration (Kubernetes/RedHat OpenShift/Fargate)
