We are looking to now recruit for an Associate Subject Matter Expert for Cleaning to support our Health business unit.

In the role of Associate SME you will be a subject matter expert in the field of Cleaning Services and will have a fundamental role in developing bespoke services, working with internal stakeholders to define, create and implement creative FM solutions that meet and exceed customer expectations for technical competency, process innovation, cost savings and quality.

The core areas the Associate SME will support the Serco Health business unit include Business Development activity this will involve seeking out opportunities for Serco Health which would then require you to support the company with Bidding, Re-Bids and Benchmarking in helping this business grow it's Cleaning FM portfolio. Operationally you will work with our NHS contracts looking at continuous improvement and business excellence to meet set standards or excel client expectations. The Associate SME will be expected to innovate and develop new ways of working for our Cleaning teams on the ground. You will also be asked to train and develop our service teams at hospital sites.

You will also work on mobilisations of new contracts coming into the business on the back of bid wins but also within our teams where restructure may set improvements. It is well rounded role with a lot of commercial activity where you will get to autocratic in your work setting what you need to do to make improvements and you will have freedom to innovate our services to make them better in serving our client and the public.

What you'll need to do the role

First and foremost, you should have previous experience in leading a Cleaning Services function in a service provider environment. It would be an advantage to have worked in a similar role in Healthcare however we will consider candidates from a variety public sector settings. In having experience, you should have strong knowledge of the Cleaning Services with FM and have a keen on for improvement.

You should be a change advocate who can see the importance of improving service and how that benefits all parties. There should be strong interpersonal skills as you will be working a variety of people at all levels.

The Associate SME must be prepared to travel as you will be expected to visit the contracts to work with the service managers and teams. We have sites from Scotland through to Southampton and in between. Meaning you can based from anywhere in the country across the UK.
