Interim Senior Programme Manager/ Commercial Officer
Pay Rate: Up to £326 per day pay range, subject to IR35 status
Locations: Andover, Witton Huntingdon, Glasgow or Newcastle
Working within the commercial function of the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), this role represents an exciting opportunity to be involved in delivering a programme of five overseas Facilities Management (FM) procurements.
The programme is known as the Overseas Prime Contract (OPC) and covers reletting contracts in Gibraltar, Cyprus, the South Atlantic Island and Germany & Rest of Europe.
OPC is led by the OPC Commercial Lead with commercial teams delivering each of the five procurements.
The Prime Contract Office (PMO) reports into the OPC Lead and provides PMO services and shared admin support across the OPC programme.
The evolving nature of the Programme and therefore the tasks which the team will be required to deliver will support the development of the post holder across a wide range of core and functional competences.
Duties required will include but not be limited to;
- Leadership and Management
- Project Management
- Benefit and Resource Management
- Stakeholder Engagement and Communications
- Facilitate the project management
- Programme manager managing budgets , Managing resource
- Team of 2 underneath them
- Compliance / writing business cases
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working within a commercial team to deliver programme objectives;
- Supporting colleagues to achieve targets in relevant timescales;
- Developing successful working relationships with external suppliers.
- Contributing to procurement and contract strategies;
- Compiling and issuing tenders;
- Administering contract amendments;
- Providing commercial advice and guidance to the wider business;
- Ensuring all procurement activities are within budget;
- Ensuring all activity undertaken is in line with government regulations and best practice.
Contract Length: 12 month with possibility of an extension till April 2022
