Role Summary:The PPA Origination and Structuring Manager will be responsible for structuring and negotiating offtake arrangements with utilities, traders and corporates on behalf of GE as an equity investor or on behalf of GE's customers in an advisory role. The PPA Origination and Structuring Manager will work closely with the Renewable Energy Sales Leaders, Regional Leadership team, Global Leadership team and the GE Energy Financial Services team to achieve sales goals for GE in the region.
Essential Responsibilities:In this role, you will originate, structure and negotiate investable and bankable offtake agreements with corporate electricity consumers and traders/utilities to support the sale of wind turbines. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to create viable offtake solutions for a number of different projects and customers in a variety of energy markets, with a particular focus on South of Europe, such as Spain and select global markets. You will need to work closely with cross-functional teams internally as well as customers, offtakers, associations and advisers to drive the growth of PPAs. Furthermore you will investigate and implement alternative revenue structures adding value to wind projects in close cooperation with relevant GE entities.
In addition you will:
Support the development of GE's Offtake Advisory Services offering and, together with Sales, sell this product to GE's customers
Support the launch, operation and continued development of Green Accelerator, an online PPA marketplace created by GE, Axpo and :elblox.
Develop and implement relevant offtake structures optimizing business cases for GE's clients
Be an integral part of meeting regional targets for equipment sales and Contribution Margin
Work with customers (developers, IPPs and investors) to understand their PPA preferences and capabilities
Provide Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback to Sales Leadership regarding viable PPA-supported project types, sizes, locations, timings, etc.
Utilize SalesForce.Com and ensure accuracy of opportunity tracking / forecasting data
Qualifications/Requirements:Master's degree from an accredited university or college and /or equivalent experience
Experience in the energy market, e.g. as a trader, originator, structurer, quantitative analyst, procurement manager, sustainability adviser, project developer, financial adviser or investor - experience in the Spanish energy market an advantage
Some experience with the full PPA lifecycle from origination through execution, along with good commercial and financial analysis skills.
Strong communication skills and confidence with executive level presentations
Strong interpersonal, team building, and negotiation skills; ability to work with colleagues and customers at all levels of the organizations
Ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues at all levels of the organization
Fluent in Spanish and English, with a track record of successfully working across cultures in complex project environments
Non-national candidates are responsible to know the minimum documentation requirements to be able to be contracted in country: NIE- Social Security Affiliation Number in Spain (NAF) and Bank Account in Spain. They must be in possession of them at the time of hiring. GE will not sponsor this requirement.
Desired Characteristics:Master's degree in business, engineering or finance
Experience in energy markets, preferably directly with PPAs (as buyer, seller or intermediary/adviser)
Ability to influence key stakeholders and focus on priorities
Proven ability to operate in a team environment and work in a matrix organization across cultures
Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
Consistent track record of meeting performance objectives
Self-starter with high energy, willingness to cold-call and network and an ability to energize others
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Experience using a CRM system
Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of time
