My clients data needs to be further described and architected to better serve our customers and colleagues and to underpin the simplification of our business and our IT architecture.
Enterprise wide data architecture is key to this. It will provided a Business Information Model (BIM) to make data visible, understandable, and more useable; simplified data flows to improve data timeliness, integration, and reduce time to market; and create a "citizen" data architecture practice
Reporting to the Principal Enterprise Data Architect and working across agile teams, the Senior Data Architects will cooperate to develop the end to end, conceptual level, business information model and enable Value Streams delivery through provision of data architecture artefacts and guidance

Architecture: Clear experience of Data Architecture in multiple business sectors; with significant experience of Enterprise Data Architecture
Leadership: Stakeholder management at senior levels and good facilitation skills
Enterprise Data Architecture:
Experience of developing business contextual information models at the conceptual level
Skilled in developing data architectures to address complex business problems
Practised at guiding solution architects, data modellers etc

Work with value streams and define how data will enable strategic capabilities and help create the data architectures that achieve this
Collaborate with data architects across value streams to understand how data can be re-used and promote work to achieve this
Resolve variations in data architectures escalating to relevant Design Authorities where necessary
Guide others creating the logical layers of the BIM
Maintain a close working relationship with the Principal Enterprise Data Architect to act as their trusted delegate

A rounded enterprise data architect with expertise in multiple aspects of data architecture, and different business sectors with at least10 years of appropriate experience
Possesses business, technology, and ideally consulting internal/external experience, gained in complex environments and are personally effective at managing stakeholders at all levels
Experienced and expert in producing data models across multiple subject areas. Ideally you will have played a major part in creating successful Enterprise Data Models, Semantic Models, and similar in large corporate environments. Physical data modelling experience is NOT required
Strong understanding of industry data modelling patterns and standards, including ideally TMF-SID

Success in these roles requires a strong understanding of business, how it uses data, and how the data needs to be architected to enable that use. Practical conceptual data modelling experience at the enterprise data level is essential. The Senior Data Architect may have once been a data modeller but will have long since expanded their skills to more rounded and substantial enterprise scale data architecture and potentially architecture in other domains (business, application, etc…). Flexibility and an excellent command of their briefs will be necessary to deliver value quickly in a large agile environment. This work can initially be performed remotely but in due course will be based in Bristol and require frequent face to face interviewing and workshopping in other locations including London, Birmingham, Ipswich and elsewhere
