Are you a Lead End User Engineer with a VALID & ACTIVE SC Clearance? Do you have experience and expert technical understanding for vendor and supplier management?

The role is part of the Digital and Technology Team (DATT), which delivers modern and flexible digital and technology services that are cost efficient whilst maintaining high-quality services to users across the Cabinet office, DCMS, CCS and DExEU.

As a Lead End Computing Engineer, you will: 

  • Responsible for managing the product life cycle of all service-raised incidents (incident control) and all service requests (request control), requiring the use of knowledge management. Responsible for informing customers on progress and advising on workarounds where necessary, as well as the support and maintenance of end user services. 
  • Work with relevant IT operations and other functions, such as technical architecture, to understand lower level productivity, development and feasibility. 
     

You’ll have:

  • An ACTIVE SC CLEARANCE
  • Asset and configuration management. You can maintain secure configuration and accurate information, controlling IT assets in one or more significant areas, and verifying location and state of assets.
  • Change management. You can deal with high-impact, complex change requests. You know how to ensure that release policies, procedures and processes are applied
  • Continual service improvement. You can identify process optimisation opportunities with guidance and contribute to the implementation of proposed solutions
  • Incident management. You can lead the investigation and resolution of incidents. 
  • Service Management Framework knowledge. You have a Level 3 Service Management Framework qualification and knowledge of life-cycle and / or capability elements of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library). Service focus & reporting.
  • Testing. You can manage planning of system and/or acceptance tests, coordinating both functional and non-functional specifications. You can provide authoritative advice and guidance on test planning and can identify the process improvements and contribute to definition of best practice.
