This is a key, customer-facing role to managing our projects, achieving project objectives and satisfying our customer needs.
Our Projects range from technology development and major, high-value, new build programmes to upgrade contracts within GE's long-established Power Conversion UK business. With a strong and exciting forward pipeline, our project portfolio is located both in the UK and other global regions.Job Description

Essential Responsibilities :Managing projects for GE's Power Conversion UK business to ensure that contractual obligations are met on time and to budget by creating, maintaining and driving progress against a project plan.Be the primary point of contact for the customer on each project, building a strong and effective customer relationship and achieving a high level of customer satisfaction. As well as, interfacing with GE businesses and external suppliers as needed.Carrying out reviews to control projects and resources, check progress, manage cost, identify risks, opportunities and deviations from plan and forecast future performance.Managing the commercial, operational, technical and quality issues on the project.Ensuring financial milestones are achieved, including timely and accurate customer billing and cash collection. Ensuring compliance with GE Integrity and commercial procedures at all times.Registering, compiling, submitting and negotiating schedule changes, contract or scope variation claims.Qualifications/Requirements :Minimum HNC or equivalent in a relevant commercial or technical subject.Experience in a Project Management, Commercial or Quantity Surveying role, appropriate to the position.Experience of interfacing with external customers, commercially astute.Good understanding of project finances enabling effective control of billing, costs and internal trading. Able to critique a project from a financial view. Proven record as a skilled and flexible negotiator; ability to work through issues arising and find effective solutions.Full UK driving licence.Desired Characteristics :Commercial or Technical Degree Professional status and/or formal qualification in a body related to Project Management or Quantity Surveying Experience of: Business operations & management Contractual & legal aspects Procurement & supplier negotiations SAP NEC3 Engineering and Construction Contract Option A. Team player, who can establish effective working relationships at all levels, motivate the project team to deliver and provide support if a project encounters obstacles.Must be dedicated, show high sense of commitment and responsibility and be an effective decision maker. A clear thinker with a pro-active and structured approach. Having a passion for cost reduction, on-time delivery and providing exceptional service levels to the customer. We are seeking candidates who are hungry to continue learning, flexible and sufficiently versatile to enable rotation to other projects relating to our Products and Solutions Portfolio.Additional Eligibility Qualifications :
