Role Summary:GE Renewable Energy's Offshore Wind business is growing rapidly, and is establishing a presence in the North East of England in support of Offshore Wind projects in the North Sea. We have a number of opportunities to join our team, to be based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The role encompasses all aspects of project management and the Commissioning Package Manager is responsible for Budget, on time delivery, quality and customer acceptance of the commissioning scope to be managed.
Essential Responsibilities:The Commissioning Package Manager is a key position with-in a project team, when special scope requires special attention, and being managed as a project with-in the project.

The team is responsible to engineer the onshore commissioning and preservation of the wind turbines, the offshore commissioning strategy of the wind turbine and provides the methods, all the transport and installation tools and manpower, and is responsible to manage the offshore commissioning execution.

- Leadership and supervision of the commissioning activities during the preparation and execution of the project.
- With the Project Planner build self-understandable commissioning planning and progress report, but interfaced with the Overall project planning to identify the overall critical path.
- With the Project Controller, define baseline budget after handover from Sales team and define cost reduction road map to preserve the overall project margin.
- With the project Director and Contract Manager Identify and Manage Risks and Opportunities related to commissioning scope.
- With project Quality leader and fulfillment, ensure the Project Quality plan and requirements matches the overall Contract needs and that the commissioning test plan is well integrated in the overall customer test plan. Responsible to ensure acceptance by Customer of its scope and shall define the appropriates intermediate inspections to do so.
- With the technical project manager, ensure the scope follows the technical requirements and manage the changes of engineering following Project Procedures (derogation, Engineering changes..).
- With the Transport and Installation Package Managers, ensure OTD and preparation of the I&C phases.
- Assist the Commissioning Manager to allocate technicians for all aspects of the Commissioning activities.
- Plan and lead all technical resource activities related to turbine pre-commissioning, warranty, parts and tool management with special focus on the planning commitments made.
- Plan and lead all technical resource activities related to turbine preservation of the system located in the Tower and Nacelle, ensuring operation of all systems during the storage.
- Plan and lead all technical resource activities related to the turbine commissioning, warranty, parts and tool management and planning commitments made.
- Provide support during the assembly and the quality check for the components in the assembly plants.
- Setting the wind farms communication systems, hardware and software in collaboration with the IT and engineering departments.
- Ensure flawless execution and seamless transition from Commissioning to O&M.
- Solving problems, ensuring overall installation/operations conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures to customer satisfaction.
- Cost control for the activities described above, driving continuous improvement in field operations, reduce cost and increase the value proposition.
- Gathering information necessary to anticipate and respond to problems on site.
- Ensure technical deviations are reported with a corresponding non-conformance report (NCR).
- Provide regular reports on commissioning status. Minimize variations of the program and manage the variation process.
- Reporting cost control system, assuring the requested data input in order to posterior analysis.
- Elaborate customer reports for events related to the Commissioning activities.
- Revise commissioning procedures .
- Inform all site personnel of any site hazards as a direct result of commissioning actions, together with associated precautions.
- Ensure commissioning tasks performed safely/timely manner in accordance with contract, budget and time schedule. Providing guidance/support the technical team for any event which could hinder the continuation of the works or safe operation on site.
- Proposal of process improvements in order to get highest level in Security and/or cost reduction.
- Special attention to EHS.
Qualifications/Requirements:•Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from an accredited College or University or equivalent experience/knowledge.
•Strong experienced in offshore project execution and management of operations with +4 years of experience in offshore wind sector (design, commissioning and/or service of power conversion systems in offshore wind industry).
•Experienced in managing multidisciplinary operations on electrical tasks and commissioning preferably in offshore wind
•Experienced in contract management and adverse weather management
•Good knowledge in mechanical and electrical engineering
•Fluent in English both spoken and written
•Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
•Willing to relocate to Newcastle UK or travel frequently during engineering phase and execution phase.
