Role Summary:GE Renewable Energy's Offshore Wind business is growing rapidly, and is establishing a presence in the North East of England in support of Offshore Wind projects in the North Sea. We have a great opportunity to join our team, to be based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. In this role you will provide leadership on all contractual issues to cross-functional teams responsible for delivering project contractual requirements while delivering on time, maintaining budget and quality requirements.
Essential Responsibilities:The role requires keen commercial acumen in managing all scope changes to mitigate scope screep and to convert them into opportunities to enhance project profitability. Contract Manager shall also establish process related to project contract management and lead in instituting appropriate operating rhythm to ensure project objectives of on-time delivery, cash and profitability are preserved.

• Responsible for the effective and proactive management of the Contract mechanisms including client communications, variation pricing and scheduling, identification of project risks and opportunities.
• Report functionally to the Global Contracts Leader and operationally to the Project Director.
• To ensure that all members of the Off-Shore Wind (OFW) project team conform to the Contract procedures.
• Proactively administer the applications for payment to Clients and liaise with OFW Finance team to accurately forecast and report upon the project cash position.
• Develop claim strategy and develop claim on all open commercial issues
• Project closeout in line with the OFW process

Essential Responsibilities:

Identify Project margin target and maximise via variation process
Recovery of lost delivery schedule time via variation process
Efficient management of variation process and agreement of variations before Project Close-Out
Efficient communication with Clients in accordance with Contract
Actively identify potential Contract claims and support Claims Manager with necessary information and evaluations register, track and respond to commercial claims in accordance with Contract
Monitor project cash position and regularly report to finance team
Actively participate in Business Review and PMR meetings.
Manage and support Contract Managers (direct reports) as required
Qualifications/Requirements:Suitable academic and professional qualifications related to the nature of the role.
PC literate
Have a sound understanding of the OFW or similar business and project activities
Proven commercial/contract experience within offshore wind, power, oil & gas or related process industries.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong commercial acumen
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence others within teams
Ability to co-ordinate several projects simultaneously
Effective problem identification and solution skills
Self-motivated, highly efficient and professional
