THE OPPORTUNITY

As a member of the wider MCR Global family, you will be joining our small but rapidly expanding team of consultants here in the UK.  This opportunity is for an Environmental Training specialist to work at Ministry of Defence (MOD) Abbeywood to provide engaging and interactive training courses across a wide range of subjects to MOD and civil servant clients.   This opportunity falls inside IR35.

THE CANDIDATE

We are seeking a forward thinking, pro-active Environmental Training specialist with proven experience of delivering high quality training and workshops to a range of clients.  The candidate must be able to manage students, training resources and schedules and conduct training material reviews and updates.

THE ROLE

Primarily the role responsibilities will be:

  • Deliver high quality, engaging training and workshops to a range of internal staff and external clients
  • Manage students, training resources and training schedules during workshops and courses
  • Liaise with the Academy Manager for course resources, schedules, evaluation
  • Conduct training material reviews and updates

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must hold a relevant teaching / instruction qualification e.g. Level 3 / 4 Award Education and Training (AET); previously CTTLLS / PTLLS or have equivalent demonstrable evidence of high quality training delivery.
  • Must be in possession of an active Secret security clearance
  • Must be a sole UK National
  • Trainers must be able to deliver workshop and instructor led delivery in the following areas: 

Environmental (Essential)

  • Experience of applying the tools and techniques covered within Project-Orientated Environmental Management System (POEMS), including:
    • Environmental management plans
    • Environmental aspects and impacts
    • Environmental impact management
    • Development of an environmental case report
  • UK environmental legislation and standards
  • Sustainable development and procurement
  • Experience of applying Best Practicable Environmental Option (BPEO) in environmental assessment
  • Energy management / climate change

Safety (Desirable)

  • Knowledge of the tools and techniques covered within Project-Orientated Safety Management System (POSMS), across the Concept Assessment Development Manufacturing In-Service Disposal (CADMID) cycle, including:
    • Safety management plans
    • Hazard identification and assessment techniques
    • Safety case construction
    • Risk assessment
    • Principles of As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP)

Other Knowledge (Desirable):

  • Maritime Regulations (UK MOD and commercial)
  • Aviation Regulations (UK MOD and commercial)
  • UK MOD organisational roles and responsibilities
