NorthLink Ferries, Hatston, Kirkwall, KW15 1RQ

Permanent Term Contract, 16 hours

NorthLink Ferries sail daily from Aberdeen to Lerwick with frequent calls at Kirkwall, and from Scrabster on the north coast of Scotland to Stromness in Orkney. Our ferries operate 363 days per year providing the lifeline service to the Northern Isles, with islanders, visitors, goods and supplies all travelling by NorthLink Ferries.

We have a great opportunity to join the team at NorthLink Ferries. We are recruiting for a Customer Service Assistant to join our great team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, genuine and friendly person who really enjoys working with the public and wants to provide exceptional customer service

You will receive practical training, development and progression within a customer focused environment. We have great programs to support your development towards a long and successful career.

What you need to do the job:

The successful candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, be able to follow standards and have good organisational skills. You will be carrying out the check-in and boarding passengers onto their chosen sailing. It is key that you are able to communicate well with team members and the public as you will be directing passenger vehicles on and off the ferries and ensuring all cash, charge, float and till procedures are carried out in accordance with company Policy. You will be confident to use a phone and a computer system daily. Another aspect of your role is to maximise sales through up-selling, using incentives and promotions. It is important that you are able to make decisions in a fast-paced environment and to enjoy it at the same time!
