About the role
We're looking for a Senior C# Software Engineer to join us at HMNB Devonport, one of the largest naval bases in Western Europe. We're a key strategic partner to our customers; the MOD and the Royal Navy. We ensure that the UK Royal Navy goes to sea safely by supporting them in Devonport and around the world, delivering complex ship and submarine sustainment programmes and applying our core strengths of technology and expertise to sustain critical and complex assets to help maintain national security.
We are growing a dynamic highly motivated team of Senior / Software C# Engineers to work within the Mission Systems business of DST on a number of challenging simulation projects.

As a Senior C# Software Engineer, you will work with and lead a team to develop software and hardware solutions in support of a number of Simulation Projects. You will have an understanding of various development methodologies (Agile, Hybrid, Waterfall) and will have a good working knowledge with MS DevOps and Visual Studio IDE. The role would suit candidates that enjoy the challenging software development projects that will form core of a simulation and training environments.

The Senior C# Software Engineer will enhance the Software Development Team skills and provide the key skills necessary to develop new Simulation and Training Systems. In this role, you will enable efficient development of complex simulation environments.

What do I need to do the role?
• Significant development experience in C# and ideally WPF or simulation background
• Ability to specify and design software and hardware architectures
• Ability to lead a Team of SW Engineers
• Experience of a number of various development Methodologies
• Knowledge of Software testing techniques (ISTQB)
• Strong C# Software development experience
