AWE are currently recruiting for a Senior HR Specialist to work within the Employee Relations sub function of our Human Resources Team.

The Senior HR Specialist will support to the Head of Employee Relations in managing TU business, the delivery of TU generated project work and advising on TU related matters. They will also provide overall management of AWE HR policies in accordance with the AWE Management System documentation framework.

Key Accountabilities

  • The provision of research and subsequent recommendations / options into ER project work
  • Ensuring that all parties (TUs and AWE management) can prepare fully for routine and special meetings, with agreed agendas and documented action and decision logs
  • The delivery and maintenance of legally compliant HR policies along with supporting processes, procedures and standards, including consultation with TUs (where required) and other stakeholders
  • Developing and leading communication of policy and policy changes within HR and the wider business

Key Responsibilities

  • Agree agendas and co-ordinate supporting paperwork for all TU meetings (e.g. quarterly consultation meetings and recurring project or consultation meetings)
  • Provide expert advice on TU matters within the HR function and to the wider business as required
  • Collate material and data, liaising with centres of expertise (e.g. Reward) as required, in support of and as directed by the Head of Employee Relations
  • Support the Head of Employee Relations in the sourcing and interpretation of legal advice (within AWE or from a third party) in support of TU interaction and project work, as required
  • To scan the external environment for statutory changes that require implementation within AWE HR policies, along with wider good practice and initiatives that may benefit the way policy is managed and communicated within the business
  • Be the key point of contact for HR and the business for all aspects of policy management
  • Provide a consistent, agreed style for all HR policies and supporting documents and process
  • Liaise with HR Centres of Expertise to ensure subject matter experts own the creation of policy
  • Liaise with and be the key point of contact with the AWE Quality Function to ensure the timely publication of HR policies within the Management System

Key Skills

Essential:

  • Working with employment law - interpreting and advising
  • Exposure to and working with TUs at an operational level
  • Working within a complex matrix engineering / manufacturing organisation

Qualifications

  • Good general standard of education, CIPD or relevant HR qualification desirable
