Job Details

Leading a multi-national team and being an integral member of the Divisional Marketing and Sales management team, the Offset and Industrial Collaboration (O&IC) Lead is accountable for all Industrial Collaboration and Offset matters arising within the Leonardo Electronics Division (LED).

 

Working in coordination with the Divisional M&S team, Business Units (BU) and other relevant functions, the role shall develop the Divisional and regional strategies for O&IC across LED with the objective of enhancing the divisions' competitive strength in key countries through local investment, technology transfer and industrial partnerships.

 

Interfaces

 

  • Reports to the Divisional Marketing and Sales Director of the Electronics Division
  • Manage internal relationships with the Business Units, Functions, Chief Commercial Office (CCO) and other Divisions
  • Marketing and Sales community within the Division the BU/LoBs and CCO
  • Offset Authorities and other Government organisations in countries of interest
  • Customer, Supplier and Partner organisations

 

Key Responsibility Areas

 

  • Work with the Division and BU to establish and implement coordinated Regional Strategies for O&IC, to enhance LED's competitive strength using investment, technology transfer and industrial partnerships
  • Produce O&IC plans to support Divisional initiatives on strategic campaigns that support the O&IC Regional Strategy and work in conjunction with key functions
  • Responsible for the oversight and governance of commercial agreements with 3rd Parties to address particular campaigns or customers, creating, implementing and monitoring relevant guidelines (Procedure-42) and supporting the Marketing & Sales team in constructing commercial agreements that address the needs of LED
  • Represent LED in its interface into the CCO Offset team, supporting the Governance process, providing reports on LED progress against the current account and campaigns, attending CCO events that promote the One Company ethic and support the development of the Offset Professional Family Framework
  • Provide independent assessment of BU O&IC plans for bids in line with Offset directive and approval of O&IC plans of campaigns that require Divisional review
  • Obtain input from the BU's to consolidate regular updates on the fulfilment of the Offset current account and progress against key campaigns, and produce overall LED position to Division and CCO
  • Work with BU's and Divisional functions to support the production of innovative O&IC projects that harnesses the resources of the division to benefit campaign P-win's, support development initiatives or increase revenue opportunity
  • Support the Divisional Regional Leads in the interface and understanding of local industry, ownership of senior level relationships between LED and Offset Authorities and coordinate the implementation of the O&IC Regional Strategy
  • Functional responsibility for performance and development of the LED Offset resources across the Division and BU's, including owning the Offset Professional Framework for LED with the remit to develop it further in conjunction with CCO
  • Assist the BU Offset leads address priority tasks and campaigns to maximise benefit for LED
  • Ensure Offset Governance requirements and directives are followed and adhered to. Work with Divisional and CCO Governance teams in continued improvement initiatives, audits and report requirements
  • Attend internal management reviews and represent LED at industry events associated with Offset and Countertrade
  • Coordinate the BU's O&IC teams in Key Markets to obtain maximum benefit from the One Division Approach
  • Provide coaching and direction on O&IC rules and approaches to the BU Offset leads, Divisional Management and Regional leads

  • Identified as Best in Class within Leonardo
  • Improvement of PWIN where O&IC is applicable
  • Reduction in risk provisions in undertaking O&IC

 

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required

 

Skills Qualifications & Knowledge:

 

  • Strong Communication and presentation skills
  • Good leadership skills with the ability to integrate and work in a team environment
  • Good interpersonal skills and be able to manage commercial relationships
  • Must be self-starter; able to develop the role and function
  • Flexible approach and ability to travel overseas essential
  • Data literate, capable of quick and informed decision making
  • Must demonstrate commercial acumen and have experience of contract law
  • Experience of working in multi-cultural environments an advantage
  • Previous experience of offset and establishing joint ventures advantageous
  • This position will involve a significant level of UK, IT and International travel
