Digital Investigation and Intelligence is joint programme between Thames Valley and Hampshire and the aim is to develop digital standards, strategies, tools and training that will enable consistent approaches to dealing with digital crimes.

In developing our DII capability and capacity we will ensure that we focus on our whole workforce, ensuring the right people and teams have access to the training, skills, knowledge and awareness, advice and tactical support they need, supported by the right equipment (kit and software) necessary, to give a good public service in a digitally connected age. We will prioritise our work so that we build our capability and capacity where it counts, so as to save our people time, energy and effort.

As part of this development we are now looking to create a brand new team of dedicated Digital Media Investigators (DMI's) to offer a new level of service to the whole force. Alongside will also be 2 Digital Trainer SME posts to offer new capacity and capability around digital training and CPD across TVP. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to build a team and develop skills according to the needs of the Force.

In this role you will review current digital training that is delivered, consider what other training is needed and develop CPD opportunities, provide training solutions and services in support of Force aims and objectives. You will deliver a broad range of training products to a predominantly police officer audience, facilitating consistent, relevant and effective learning. You will work with the design team to create new products or review/updating existing ones and provide specialist advice, guidance and assistance relevant to your allocated area of delivery (IPLDP) to other members of TVP requiring updates / information on criminal law or procedure.

The successful candidate will have attained QCF Level 3 Certificate in L&D or equivalent experience and have proven ability to facilitate learning in an allocated delivery area with the ability to present information and ideas effectively and persuasively. The post holder will have an extensive knowledge of operational policing issues including legislation, process and procedures as well as Force policy pertaining to the patrol function. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential as well as a good standard of report writing skills. Previous policing knowledge would also be desirable.

You must have the capability to travel to different locations across the Force and undertake all assignments in a timely manner; being available to work some evenings and weekends, when required. Due to the requirement to work flexibly, including unsocial hours, public transport may not be available; for this reason, a full UK driving licence is considered essential.
