Job Designation

The effective review - and correction - of forecast demand signals is essential to maintain control and effective stocking for our portfolio of parts, globally. This role is one of a number whose purpose is to provide said review and to co-operate with the procurement team to turn the demand signals into executable orders. To supporting the team leader role in their discussions with the wider sales and marketing team, gaining an excellent knowledge of the products involved and the patterns that influence their consumption will be an aim for this role, as will applying planning best practice together as a group.

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Timely, accurate and consistent processing of demand signals from planning systems.
  • Identification and correction of forecast errors (improving longer term forecast accuracy).
  • Proactive development of knowledge around products, their application and the influencers over their consumption.
  • Active support for SIOP meetings through the provision of information and attendance when necessary.
  • Cross-train with other planners to provide cover for absence.
  • Flex to support regional outstations with respect to spares and MRO exceptional demands.
  • Support stock re-balancing initiatives to minimise excess stock-holding.
  • Co-operate with and supply information to the procurement team to allow conversation of messages into firm orders.
  • Seek and act upon opportunities to reduce global the cost of holding parts stock.
  • Understand and actively demonstrate HPC values through day-to-day activities.
  • Ad-hoc project-based work as required.


Job Specifications

  • Minimum Requirements: High grade further education certificates (A-level equivalents)
  • 2-5 years' experience in a Planning or Supply Chain environment.
  • Aerospace or similar industry experience working in similar roles.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • ERP systems - ideally SAP experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships within a team and work together to achieve business objectives.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, potentially across time zones.
  • Self-motivation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Patience, diligence and consistency.
