Calibration Engineer - Electronic & Instrumentation
Location: Reading / Basingstoke area
Package: £25,000 - £30,000 (dependent on experience) plus market leading contributory pension scheme, generous holiday entitlement, excellent work/life balance including a 9-day working fortnight and flexible working hours (role dependent). A salary sacrifice scheme is also available. We will consider candidates looking for full time or part time hours.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a small team of engineers and subject matter experts calibrating a wide range of electrical, electronic and thermal instrumentation. Calibrating both in lab and in-situ working with customers to provide certified calibrations traceable to national / international standards.
You will assist in the provision, maintenance and implementation of local technical documentation for the calibration centre, including the preparation of maintenance / work instructions, calibration procedures and risk assessments.
On a day to day basis you will get to apply and hone your craft skills, working in accordance with task instructions in a safe and effective manner to ensure plant and equipment are available as required.
You will be expected to maintain current knowledge of all applicable procedures, legislation and safety measures as well as providing technical advice and guidance to customers and stakeholders.
To be considered for these roles, you must have an engineering apprenticeship with a minimum NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in a relevant technical discipline or NVQ/Diploma level 2 plus industrial experience. Relevant on the job training will be provided.
You will also need:
- Working knowledge/experience of operational craft activities including fault finding techniques and methodologies
- Working knowledge/experience of building services, plant, equipment and processes
- An understanding of Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) and the Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA)
- Ideally, you will have demonstrable experience relating the maintenance of electrical, electronic instrumentation
Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in designated areas.
