This job opportunity comes at an exciting time for Business Intelligence within Ascent. Recognising the immense benefits of BI, the business is looking for an innovative and forward thinking problem solver to support its Business Intelligence Developer.
This role is varied and challenging, and will involve working with internal stakeholders and external customers. Initiative and problem solving skills are a must, as are strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Although previous experience within BI is preferable, those with relevant skills are welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities
- To design and implement automated tools using coding languages such as SQL, Python, R , MDX, DAX and Power Query for use in data processing, auditing, and for ad hoc reporting requirements.
- To utilise reporting tools such as Power BI, SSRS and Crystal reports to deliver meaningful reports and dashboards that add interpretative value to raw data.
- To assist with the data quality assurance processes that support analytics and reporting.
- To collate, input and visually present data for specific projects and assist in the interpretation and analysis.
- To undertake project work or special tasks in accordance with business requirements.
- To respond to requests channelled through the Senior Leadership Team to provide data that supports the delivery of Ascent's objectives and fulfill reporting requirements.
- To identify gaps in data provision and reporting mechanisms and work with team members to address gaps.
- To uphold partnering behaviours and a customers centred focus when dealing with all stakeholders.
- To undertake any other duties commensurate with the role
- To provide friendly Excel support to the wider business where possible
- Uphold adherence to the Health, Safety & Environmental Polices and Air Safety responsibilities
- Extensive and proven advanced Excel skills (Desirable that this includes VBA but not essential);
- Extensive and in-depth expertise in data manipulation, management and reporting;
- An ability to critically and accurately test code;
- Extensive and in-depth expertise in Structured Query Language (SQL);
- Extensive and in-depth expertise designing reports in SSRS;
- Extensive analytical and problem solving skills; and
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Experience with designing SQL Server tables, stored procedures, functions and ETL processes
- Experience designing reports and dashboards in Power BI and Crystal
- Experience working collaboratively with customers and users in a partnering environment.
