About the role

We currently have an opportunity for a Skilled Machinist to join our Production function working within Defence Systems Technology (DST), Ashton, Bristol.

DST is a business unit within the Marine Sector of Babcock International Group. Working on a range of exciting design, manufacture and support projects, DST works with a number of key clients domestically and internationally. We're based at a number of sites in the UK and overseas. The business continues to win new work and grow at a significant pace, as a result we are recruiting for talented, enthusiastic and driven people.

Using your experience, you will machine components to engineering drawings within tolerance and within planned hours

What do I need to do the role?

You'll need to be a time served machinist with proven experience of manufacturing large components for the defence industry operating CNC Mills and Large Machining centres.

Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:

  • Excellent all round engineering skills.
  • Sound understanding of Heidenhain and Fanuc programming.
  • Flexibility to work different machine tools and shift patterns is essential.
  • Experience working safely within health and safety boundaries.
  • Capable of reading engineering drawings.
  • Lifting and Slinging trained with associated experience.
  • Experience working to high quality standards.
  • Team player who can work well in a close knit team.
