About the role
Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a Commissioning Engineer/Gas Trials Engineer to join our Liquified Gas Equipment (LGE) Division. We design and supply cargo handling systems for liquefied gas ships that carry Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) across the globe.

Our Head Office is in Rosyth, Scotland however; our current projects are mainly in South Korea and China. We are therefore looking to recruit a Commissioning Engineer to based on site at the largest shipyard in the world - Ulsan Shipyard in South Korea. You will be part of a very close and supportive team of highly experienced Engineers.

Working closely with the Site Manager, Site based Commissioning Team and Shipyard's Operations Team, you will provide commissioning and start-up support for the Cargo Handling Plant equipment for LPG and LNG carriers during the final building phase in the shipyard. You may also be required to support with other Commissioning projects located at other Shipyards across South Korea and China for Gas Trials and a vessel's first voyage etc.

What do I need to do the role?
You'll need to have experience of working on a ship with either refrigeration or LPG & LNG cargo related machinery.

Would also like you to:
  • Have qualifications within Marine, Mechanical or Gas to a minimum of HNC.
  • Be physically fit
  • Hold a valid driving licence
