We are currently recruiting for a Business Case Author for the FCO based in London.

As Business Case Author, you will: 

  • Be accountable and responsible for the creation of treasury green book Strategic, Programme, Outline and Full business cases.
  • Be accountable and responsible for the end to end business case approvals process
  • Produce all approvals supporting documentation
  • Work with the financial modeller resource to produce the economic cases and the finance resources to produce the finance cases.
  • Take the business case through full review and assurance processes completing document trackers required for audit purposes
  • Present the business cases to the relevant stakeholders in FCO and its partners.
  • Work with the programme manager and workstream leads (and PMS) to produce plans for case creation and approval
  • Work with external stakeholders to gain approval through HM Treasury and Cabinet Office processes
  • Work with stakeholders to get by in top business cases

 

You’ll have:

  • Valid and active SC Clearance
  • Experience of authoring treasury green book business cases.
  • Experience of business case approvals processes (Treasury and Cabinet Office)
  • Experience working on multi sourcing ICT change programmes and to provide specialist advice based on experience in this field
  • Ideally, the successful candidate will have performed this role in a similar programme in a public sector and will be fully cognizant of the procurement processes (OJEU CPN and Government CCS frameworks), deliverables and governance
  • Ability to identify, quantify and articulate risk.
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide variety of internal and external people, both in formal and informal circumstances, and where necessary to gain their agreement and acceptance.
