About the role

Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a Project Manager to join the HESS team at our DST department in providing Project Management support for all engineering support activities that contributes to the successful delivery of the HESS contracts.

Defence Systems Technology (DST) is a business unit within the Marine and Technology Division of Babcock International. DST supports a wide range of exciting design, manufacture, Equipment support projects, working with a number of key clients both domestically and internationally. The business continues to win new work and grow at a significant rate and as a result of contract awards; we are currently recruiting for talented, enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join the HESS team.

The HESS team operates from the Combined Weapons and Equipment Workshop (CWEW) situated in the Granby Yard enclave at Devonport. The team currently manages a number of equipment support contracts. Key elements include Equipment and Spares Support, Repair Service, Engineering, Technical & PDS support, OPDEF management and 24 hour Helpdesk Facility.

Main responsibilities will include ensuring that all internal and external targets for delivery and cost are fully met achieving customer satisfaction and customer key performance indicators (KPIs) and identifying and undertaking business development and improvement activities. You will also assist with and manage the production of bid support documentation as required.

What do I need to do the role?

You will be APM qualified and educated to ONC standard in an engineering/technical subject or an experienced Mechanical/Electrical Tradesman with years' experience in delivering service / equipment based Projects.

You will come from a Technical engineering background and be conversant with corporate and existing customer best practice processes and procedures covering Project Management, Planning, Finance and Risk activities.

You will also be a self-motivator with good organisational skills and a strong H&S ethic with good communication skills across all levels of the business.

What else do I need to know?

This role could be considered for flexible working.

There will be requirement to travel to attend meetings both within the UK and abroad.
