About the role
Working as part of our Defence Systems Technology (DST) business we're looking for a Security Advisor to join us. DST forms a critical part of Babcock's Marine organisation. Working across a range of exciting design, manufacture and support projects, our 1,500 strong team operate from a number of sites across the UK and internationally ensuring our global customer portfolio is always supported.

You will act as a focal point of contact for the effective support of all day to day Site / Business Unit security and IA related matters providing an advisory capacity ensuring key support functions are delivered in a smart, flexible and holistic manner.

You will provide professional support to all business functions across DST (including the wider Marine (Bristol) area) on all security matters including (but not limited to) full document management service for all accountable records, clearance and vetting service, travel assistance and travel security advice etc. Ensuring that all security requirements are met by the business and remain compliant with Babcock Policy and other internal requirements as well as all external contractual obligations, legal requirements and policy frameworks.

You will also provide a security point of contact to both internal and external stakeholders to enable an open and transparent working relationship focused on resolving issues as they arise.

What do I need to do the role?
You will have a good working knowledge of the Security Policy Framework / JSP 440 and, ideally, experience within a similar role. The ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels is key to this role, you will be a confident and self-motivated individual displaying effective entrepreneurial development techniques. Whilst at the same time acting as a key part of the team.

You will also require:
• A good level of education including numeracy and literacy.
• A good communicator both oral and written.
• Good IT skills to include a sound knowledge of Microsoft products (including MS Office, Excel, Access, Outlook, Word).
